Top 5 Things to Do in the Maldives

It’s no surprise that travel to the Maldives is getting more and more popular. This small cluster of islands in the Indian Ocean has a lot to offer, and is a great choice for a once in a lifetime luxury trip like your honeymoon.

Snorkeling & Scuba Diving
Swim with dolphins, wale sharks, and manta rays. The Maldives is one of the few places to swim with these amazing creatures. You can also adopt a coral reef, and receive updates on how it is developing.

Spend the day as a castaway
Pack a lunch and get dropped off on an uninhabited island to spend the day. Many resorts offer this opportunity.

Stay in an Over Water Bungalow
You don’t have to be in Bora Bora to stay in an over water bungalow. Many bungalows have glass floors so you can see the crystal clear water whether you are inside or out.

Water Sports
Want to do something in the water other than swim? Take a sailboat ride at sunset, or rent a kayak for two hours. It’s always more fun when you can see what is in the water underneath you! Do you like to fish? Try deep sea fishing; I guarantee you will catch something you can’t catch at home.

Island Hop
There are roughly 200 islands in the Maldives, and each and every one has something to offer. Don’t limit yourself to the island your resort is on. Get out there and experience a few!

If You Love Butterflies Visit One of These Caribbean Islands

To see hundreds of different butterfly species, visit one of the magical butterfly gardens in St. Martin, St. Thomas, or Aruba. The gardens are an oasis for butterflies; you can see them in every stage of their life cycle. It’s like heaven for a butterfly fanatic!

To see the most activity from the butterflies, visit in the morning.   It is also the best time to see them hatching from their chrysalis or cocoons.

For the best chance to have a butterfly land on you be sure to wear bright clothing and perfumed lotion. Butterflies taste with their feet so if you smell good they are more likely to land on you. If you are a photographer and want to get some great shots, you will want to visit in the afternoon since the butterflies will be less active.

Have Your Camera Ready for this Caribbean Beach

Maho Beach is one of the most popular beaches to visit in St. Martin. While it isn’t the most spectacular beach on the island you will still have an unforgettable time. It is located right next to the airport landing strip. You can feel the force of the jets from airplanes taking off, and watch as the planes fly in right over your head!

To see the most action, visit on a Friday or Saturday evening if you can. For optimal viewing and a spectacular sunset, enjoy dinner and happy hour at Sunset Bar & Grill.

How to Travel With Your Wedding Gown

The date has been set, the arrangements made, and the guest list has been finalized. Now all that is left to do is pack and jet off to your dream destination wedding! Or so you thought… Until you were presented with the challenge of packing your wedding dress. Don’t worry because there are a couple of ways you can travel with your gown.

Hang it in the closet on your flight.
Depending on the flight and airline you may be allowed to hang your dress in the closet that is on-board; just ask your flight attendant! This is not the most reliable way to travel with your dress as it is not guaranteed that you can hang your dress in the closet.

Have it professionally packed.

Be sure to mention that you are having a destination wedding to your bridal shop. Many shops offer special packaging (carry-on size) to ensure that your dress stays in pristine condition during travel.

Buy a seat for your dress.

For peace of mind you could consider buying an airline ticket for your dress. This way you can have your eyes on it at all times and don’t have to worry where it is. It may sound crazy, but many people choose this option when traveling with their dresses.

Pack it in your carry-on luggage.
Your dress should be the only thing in your carry-on suitcase. Pack the dress with tissue paper to ensure less wrinkles, and put the dress inside of a plastic dry cleaning bag or two to keep out any moisture. Carefully fold your dress and place gently in your luggage.

When you get to your destination...
Be sure to hang up your dress as soon as you arrive at your destination so that any wrinkles that may have occurred during travel can fall out. Most resorts include gown steaming in your wedding package; so you can be sure that your gown will be picture perfect on your wedding day.  If not, try the shower method to get them out. Hang your dress in the bathroom and run a hot shower until the room gets steamy.

What to Consider When Choosing an All-Inclusive Resort

Have you always wanted to visit an all-inclusive resort? Wouldn't you love to not worry about expenses on your vacation? Did you know that not all resorts are the same? Resorts differ greatly from beach locations, restaurant and fine dining options, service inclusions and amenities.   Here are a few things to think about when planning your all-inclusive vacation.

What is included?
This is the number one thing to consider when choosing a resort. Some resorts will include everything from food and drinks to your laundry services. Other resorts will only offer a limited amount of things; certain alcoholic drinks will be included, but bottled water is not, or you may want to play volleyball on the beach and learn that there is a rental fee for sports equipment.

Do I want to stay at an adult-only or kid friendly resort?
Figure out what best suites your travel style. If you prefer not to have the presence of children on your vacation, then the adult- only option is for you. If you don’t mind children being around or are bringing children of your own on vacation, there are many resorts that cater to families with children. You can also choose an option in the middle of the two by going to a resort that offers adult-only areas. This way you get the best of both worlds.

Travel during the off season.
Traveling during off season is a great way to receive the best deals, and to ensure that the resort isn’t too crowded. The cheapest times to travel will be when school is in session for the kids, and hurricane season for the Caribbean and Mexico. Just be sure to purchase travel insurance!

Book Early
Book your trip as soon as possible. Booking early will ensure that you have many more options to choose from, and some resorts will even offer an early booking discount.

Find out what the tipping policy is.
Tipping can be confusing at an all-inclusive. Be sure to read the resort’s tipping policy before your arrival. Some resorts allow it where others completely forbid it and an employee can be fired if they accept one. If you’re not sure about the tipping policy, ask your travel agent or a friend that has visited the resort.

Ask your Travel Agent.
We have extensive amounts of knowledge when it comes to planning a trip. If we haven’t been to the resort in question chances are we know someone who has, and can get the answers to all of your questions and more!

Via Napoli

EPCOT Food: Via Napoli

Via Napoli is one of my favorite places to eat in EPCOT. It is especially great if you have a group of 3 or more.

Appetizers:

The Calamari Fritti is my favorite by far, but the Arancini is also good and you can’t go wrong with Mozzarella Caprese.

Pizzas:

The pizzas start at $18.00 for an individual and increase to $48.00 for the Mezzo Metro.

Individual Pizzas serve – 1
Large serves – 2-3
Mezzo Metro – 3-5 (More if you are feeding kids, it’s a big pizza)

I have only had a couple so far:

  • Pepperoni Pizza – tomato sauce, pepperoni, tomato, mozzarella
  • Carciofi Pizza – white pizza, artichoke, fontina, mozzarella, truffle oil
  • Piccante Pizza – tomato sauce, spicy sausage, mozzarella
  • Quattro Formaggi Pizza – white pizza, mozzarella, parmesan, fontina, provolone
  • Margherita Pizza – Tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil

The white pizzas are my favorite especially the Carciofi. You have to like truffle oil and artichoke for this one. Anyone that has ha truffle oil can tell you it has a strong scent and a stronger taste. The pepperoni is a strong contender for my number 2 spot, but the Quattro Formaggi can give the pepperoni a run for its money.

Entrees

Have not had the pleasure of trying their most of their entrees usually stick with the pizza – I love pizza. But the ones I have had (Piatti Alla Parmigiana – Pollo, Insalata di Cesare with Chicken and the family style house salad) have all been delicious. Cooked to perfection every time I have been there.

Notes:

The service has always been Fantastic. You do need reservations for Via Napoli, these days. There once was a time when you could just walk right in and get a table, but the quality of the food and service made it so popular that you need reservations.

Fun Fact:

If you happen to be around for food and wine Via Napoli usually has a pizza window where you can pick up a slice of cheese or pepperoni.

5 Reasons Why You Should Book Your Honeymoon Early

Planning your honeymoon is one of the most exciting parts of the wedding planning process. You should book your honeymoon at least 6-9 months out in order to get the best deals and most options.

Better Flights
Everyone wants to have the ideal flight itinerary for their trip. You will find better prices and flight options if you book early. Flight schedules are available 331 days in advance so act fast before all of the good seats are taken!

Better Hotel & Resort Availability
If you are looking for a boutique hotel in the Caribbean that only has 35 rooms, these resorts will sell out of rooms fast. Or maybe you’re looking for a specific room category? Chances are you are not the only one dreaming of the same room. Booking your room early will ensure that you get exactly what you are looking for.

Early Booking Discounts
Resorts want you to book early so they may offer and early booking discount. The longer you wait to book the higher the prices will be.

More Time to Pay for Your Trip
You will need to pay a deposit for your honeymoon, but the remaining balance is not usually due until 75-90 days before your trip. Booking early ensures that you will have plenty of time to pay to pay for your honeymoon. You can pay it off slowly rather than all at once.

You Will Have More Time to Look Forward to Your Trip
Just think of all the time you can spend dreaming about your honeymoon rather than worrying about planning it.

Your Honeymoon is one of the most significant trips of your life, so don't hold out until the last minute!
