5 Reasons Why You Should Book Your Honeymoon Early

Planning your honeymoon is one of the most exciting parts of the wedding planning process. You should book your honeymoon at least 6-9 months out in order to get the best deals and most options.

Better Flights
Everyone wants to have the ideal flight itinerary for their trip. You will find better prices and flight options if you book early. Flight schedules are available 331 days in advance so act fast before all of the good seats are taken!

Better Hotel & Resort Availability
If you are looking for a boutique hotel in the Caribbean that only has 35 rooms, these resorts will sell out of rooms fast. Or maybe you’re looking for a specific room category? Chances are you are not the only one dreaming of the same room. Booking your room early will ensure that you get exactly what you are looking for.

Early Booking Discounts
Resorts want you to book early so they may offer and early booking discount. The longer you wait to book the higher the prices will be.

More Time to Pay for Your Trip
You will need to pay a deposit for your honeymoon, but the remaining balance is not usually due until 75-90 days before your trip. Booking early ensures that you will have plenty of time to pay to pay for your honeymoon. You can pay it off slowly rather than all at once.

You Will Have More Time to Look Forward to Your Trip
Just think of all the time you can spend dreaming about your honeymoon rather than worrying about planning it.

Your Honeymoon is one of the most significant trips of your life, so don't hold out until the last minute!

4 Questions to Ask When Planning Your Honeymoon

Your honeymoon is one of the most enjoyable parts of the whole wedding process. You get to spend some quality one-on-one time with your new husband or wife. The most difficult part of the honeymoon planning process is answering the question “Where should we go?” Answer these four questions to get started.

How do we want to spend our honeymoon?
What exactly do you and your fiancé want do on your honeymoon? Are you the adventurous type and want to zip line through the jungle? Or do you prefer to spend your time relaxing on the beach with a good book? Maybe a little of both? Make a wish list or things you want to see or do on your honeymoon and show it to your travel agent so they can assist you in picking the perfect location.

What are our budget and time restraints?
Knowing your budget before you start planning. You don’t want to fall in love with a destination and then find out that the airfare alone will absorb your whole budget. Also knowing how long you can spend on your honeymoon. Can you only take a certain amount of time off work, or do you have some wiggle room in how long you are gone?

When do you want to leave?
Are you going to speed off to the airport the morning after the wedding? Maybe you want to take a day or two to relax at home to unwind from the wedding? Remember, the wedding is going to be exhausting and you may want to spend a couple of days resting. You can even wait a couple of weeks to go on your honeymoon if that’s what works best with your schedule. Also consider the best time to visit your destination.

What is the weather like this time of year?
Be sure to find out what the destination’s weather patterns are. If you want to go to the Caribbean, you may want to stay away from September and October to avoid hurricane season. In the winter you may want to avoid Europe and Canada as the temperatures can drop drastically.

Where can I travel without a U.S. Passport?

Where can I travel without a U.S. Passport?

Do you want to go on an exotic vacation soon, but don’t have time to wait for a passport? Did you forget to renew your passport or, didn’t apply in time? Don’t worry!  There are still a few places in the Caribbean you can visit without one!

U.S. Virgin Islands

The U.S. Virgin Islands have three islands: St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John. Popular things to do on these islands range from snorkeling or diving to duty-free shopping in the capital of Charlotte Amalie. The U.S. Virgin Islands are ideal for any beach lover; there is a myriad of beaches so you can visit a new beach every day if you want to have new surroundings. The U.S. Virgin Islands is the ideal place for all kinds of vacation!

Puerto Rico

As a U.S. territory, you do not need a passport to visit Puerto Rico! Even though the locals may speak Spanish you will never get lost in translation since they learn English from a young age.
