Your honeymoon is one of the most enjoyable parts of the
whole wedding process. You get to spend some quality one-on-one time with your
new husband or wife. The most difficult part of the honeymoon planning process
is answering the question “Where should we go?” Answer these four questions to
get started.
How do we want to
spend our honeymoon?
What exactly do you and your fiancé want do on your
honeymoon? Are you the adventurous type and want to zip line through the
jungle? Or do you prefer to spend your time relaxing on the beach with a good
book? Maybe a little of both? Make a wish list or things you want to see or do
on your honeymoon and show it to your travel agent so they can assist you in
picking the perfect location.
What are our budget
and time restraints?
Knowing your budget before you start planning. You don’t
want to fall in love with a destination and then find out that the airfare
alone will absorb your whole budget. Also knowing how long you can spend on
your honeymoon. Can you only take a certain amount of time off work, or do you
have some wiggle room in how long you are gone?
When do you want to
leave?
Are you going to speed off to the airport the morning after
the wedding? Maybe you want to take a day or two to relax at home to unwind
from the wedding? Remember, the wedding is going to be exhausting and you may
want to spend a couple of days resting. You can even wait a couple of weeks to
go on your honeymoon if that’s what works best with your schedule. Also
consider the best time to visit your destination.
What is the weather
like this time of year?
Be sure to find out what the destination’s weather patterns
are. If you want to go to the Caribbean, you may want to stay away from
September and October to avoid hurricane season. In the winter you may want to
avoid Europe and Canada as the temperatures can drop drastically.
